Forrest Paul Yarbrough

Mr. Forrest Paul Yarbrough, age 85 of Steele, Missouri, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at his residence after a prolonged illness. He was born May 31, 1931 to the late Dewey Yarbrough and Lorene Turner Yarbrough and was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Yarbrough was a United States Army Veteran based in Korea and a member of the Holland Baptist Church. Mr. Yarbrough was a school teacher for many years in South Pemiscot school systems where he taught every grade during his tenure. Mr. Yarbrough loved witnessing and sharing his faith with others, something he did often and treasured. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed spending time with family, camping and floating at the current river. Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Opal Yarbrough of Steele, Missouri; two sons: Lynn Paul Yarbrough of Steele, Missouri and Gregg Alan Yarbrough and wife Laura of Mountain, Home, Arkansas; one daughter: Tammy Stallings and husband Tim of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two brothers: John Yarbrough of Dallas, Texas and Ronnie Yarbrough of Steele, Missouri; three sisters: Gloria Frederick of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Ginger Crews of Little Rock, Arkansas and Judy Smith of Steele, Missouri; four grandchildren: Jenna Rowden and husband Josh, Connor Stallings, Heather Yarbrough and Carson Yarbrough; one great-grandson: Hudson Rowden. Mr. Yarbrough also leaves a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Peggy Lynn Yarbrough.Funeral services will be Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Holland Baptist Church, Holland, Missouri with Rev. John Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow with military honors in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Pallbearers will be: Carson Yarbrough, Connor Stallings, David Yarbrough, Jack Davis, Joshua Yarbrough, Daniel Yarbrough, Chris Copeland and Mark Yarbrough. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Steele Police Department. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials may be made to the Holland Baptist Church.
