Karen Marie Rogers

Karen Marie Rogers, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away at St. Bernards on August 21, 2022. She was born on December 24, 1944 in Hobart, Indiana to Harold Thoreson and Margaret Daily. Karen taught at Greene County Tech middle school for 12 years in the special education program. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, quilting, sowing, canning vegetables, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include; eight children: Bobby Rogers, Jr. (Leatrice) of Longview, Texas, Thelma Rogers of Bono, Arkansas, George Rogers of Longview, Texas, Harold “Wes” Rogers of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Nick Rogers (Tonya) of Hallsville, Texas, James Rogers (Sami) of Brookland, Arkansas, Tommy Rogers (Tanya) of Hallsville, Texas, and Pamela Neisler (Tony) of Holly Grove, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren: Arminda Rogers, Trinity Roberson, Kierstin Woodard (Jarred), Jonathan Rogers, Ian Rogers, Alexis Rogers, Ethan Surrey, Genia Rogers, Paige Massey, Maggie Neisler, and Rowan Neisler; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Tim Thoreson (Billie Jo) of Laport, Texas and Marc Thoreson (Sherry) of Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters: Jo Ellen Yodar of San Pierre, Indiana, Vicki Furst of Valporaiso, Indiana, and Lori Nelson of Valporaiso, Indiana; and a host of other family and friends. Karen is preceded in death by; parents: Harold Thoreson and Margaret Dailey; loving husband: Bobby Rogers, Sr.; one grandson: Bobby “Bo” Rogers III; and one brother: Ronn Thoreson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Karen's home in Jonesboro, Arkansas. In Lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation to St. Jude’s Hospital which Karen deeply loved.
