William Elvin Stacks, Sr.
February 15, 1944 - January 3, 2023

William Elvin Stacks, Sr., 78, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away at Ridgecrest Health and Rehab on January 3, 2023. He was born on February 15, 1944 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Benjamin and Jewelle Stacks. William was a member of the Strawfloor Baptist Church in Jonesboro for many years. He also served in the United States Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching old westerns, traveling, watching Nascar racing, reading, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include; loving wife of 58 years: Jo Ann Stacks of the home; one son: William Stacks, Jr. (Donna) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one daughter: Dana Burger (Brad) of Manila, Arkansas; six granddaughters: Ayla Mashburn (Michael), Danielle Dodd (Hunter), Emily Miller (Grant), Micah Ann Lancaster, Allison and Sarah Hayes; two great grandchildren: Joseph Gannon Parker and Juniper Ann Miller; one brother: Ken Stacks of Jonesboro, Arkansas; two sisters: Patricia Simpson of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Donna Grisham of Bartlett, Tennessee; and a host of other family and friends. William is preceded in death by; his parents: Benjamin and Jewelle Stacks; two brothers: Ben Stacks, Jr. and Jimmy Stacks; and three sisters: Barbara Bryan, Nesta Tucker, and Debra Reeves. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Strawfloor Baptist Church (1102 Strawfloor Drive) in Jonesboro, Arkansas at 5:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Miller officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
