Shelley Renee Gipson Adams
April 13, 1973 - April 25, 2023

Shelley Renee Gipson Adams, 50, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House on April 25, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1973 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Floyd Gipson and Rhonda Tatum Gipson. She was a Professor of Fine Arts at Arkansas State University, and she enjoyed doing artwork. Survivors include; her parents: Floyd and Rhonda Gipson; loving husband: Michael Adams of the home; two daughters: Lilia Adams of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Sylvian Adams of the home; and a host of other family and friends. The family has requested private arrangements under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.

    Shelley was the best mentor I ever had. She saw potential in me when no one else did. That was her gift, seeing potential in everyone and her other gift was pushing people to reach that potential. Everytime something good happens I think that Shelley will smile when I tell her (or laugh). It’s hard her not being in her office whenever I want to see her. I give myself comfort by thinking she is there watching Outlander on her computer. Words can’t express what a wonderful human she was. I always wished that I could be as good of a mother to my future children as she is to her girls.
