DOUGLAS WAYNE SMITH
March 13, 1942 - August 20, 2024

Douglas “Doug” Wayne Smith, 82, of Williford, Arkansas, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at St. Bernards Medical Center eager to see his wife Nora again. He was born on March 13, 1942 in Kennett, Missouri to Roy Lee and Ivy Hooper Smith. He served his country in the United States Army. Doug had many friends that he made over his lifetime and cherished every visit, phone call, and encounter he had with them. He was a widely known and sought after mechanic for automatic transmission repair for over 42 years before retiring. In his free time he would create beautiful wood furniture and décor and he dabbled in metalsmithing and small engine repair. Doug excelled at anything he tried. One of his last hobbies was building motorcycle trikes and he built and sold many over the years. Survivors include; two sons: Wesley Smith (Patrick Cotham) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jeffrey Smith (Michelle) of Richmond, Texas; one daughter: Angela Smith (Luke McCormick) of Holiday Island, Arkansas; grandchildren: Charli (Michael), Cameron (Amber), Paloma, and Sequoia; greatgrandchildren: Kealand, Jude, Aaron, Ellie, Jasper, and Sammy; one brother: Robbie Smith (Esther) of Ash Flat, Arkansas; one sister: Pat Isbell of Steele, Missouri; his dog: Buddy his best friend; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by; his wife: Nora Smith; his father: Roy Lee Smith; his mother: Ivy Hooper Smith; and one sister: Betty. The family has requested private service under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
