Jerry Lavon Bobbitt, Sr.
August 4, 1933 - February 13, 2025

Jerry Lavon Bobbitt Sr., 90, of Jonesboro, AR passed from this earth on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. He was born in Greene County to the late John M. and Mazie Singleton Bobbitt on August 4, 1933. He married Millie Delores Meadows on February 27, 1954 in Hernando, MS. Jerry spent his much of his life in the Cash, AR area and Jonesboro. He was a farmer, farming first in Cash then later in the Walnut Ridge area until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores Bobbitt, a brother, John Wayne Bobbitt, and a sister, Phyllis June Spears. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Austin (Bruce Gist) of Jonesboro and a son, Jerry Bobbitt Jr. (Sherry), of Bay. Three grandchildren, Ashley Ginn (Brian) of Jonesboro; Kelli Merryman (Drew) of Jonesboro; and Jonathan Bobbitt (Ashley) of Bay. Eight great-grandchildren, Brantley and Easton Ginn; Eli, Isaac, and Millie Merryman; and Gavin, Gabby, and Logan Bobbitt. Two sisters, Marion Hays, and Carolyn Seachrist both of Gilmer, TX and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Bobbitt, Jonathan Bobbitt, Gavin Bobbitt, Barry Burns, Bruce Gist and Drew Merryman. Faith Funeral Home in Manila is in charge of arrangements.
