Gregory Lynn Perkins

Mr. Gregory Dean Perkins, age 53 of Wilson, Arkansas, passed away at his home on July 21, 2014. Born August 8, 1960 in Lepanto, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Floyd and Aver Walley Perkins and had been a longtime area resident. Mr. Perkins enjoyed fishing and collecting artifacts. He is survived by his wife: Sallie Perkins of Lepanto, Arkansas; two sons: Kevin Perkins of Lepanto and Gregory Perkins of Obion, Tennessee; one daughter; Tera Perkins of Obion, Tennessee, four brothers: Patrick Perkins of Bassett, Arkansas, Johnathan Perkins of Tennessee, Ed Hamelton of Tennessee and Ricky Tatum; one sister: Melissa Dotson of Wilson, Arkansas; three granddaughters: Chassittie Fleeman, Kara Perkins and Madelyn Perkins. Mr. Perkins also leaves a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Tim Perkins and one grandson: Owen Perkins. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 1:00pm at the New Life Ministries in Bassett, Arkansas with Rev. Robert Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Bassett Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 6 until 8:00pm at the church.

    My father was always my hero...he was a great man he was my best friend and fishing buddy. Words can t explain my love for him..I always showed him respect and he did me..I will always think of him and my son that i know is in his arms..I wish i was half the man he is and was ..oh lord , my dad is gone..oh lord..i m lost..if your listening like i always used to say I LOVE YOU DAD..I PRAY I CAN MEET YOU AGAIN ONE FINE DAY..I MISS YOU FOREVER...oh LORD...your son GREGORY.....and for the record he didn t really collect artifacts he showed the world some of the most magnificent artifacts that was ever discovered he was a great explorer and paleontolagist..in my mind he is a legend...he has more knowledge in one thought than any scientist on this planet about artifacts and anything of that nature..he was a natural born WORLD SHAKER..!!! these words are just a grain of sand on the biggest beach in the world about things i could say and tell you about him..I m his son and i feel luckey just to have known him he was a brilliant mind if he let you in..Love you dad till we meet again..your son Gregory..kiss my son for me i know you have him..tell him i love him and i ll see him the same as you..i love you and owen..every minute i think of you both love always Gregory...

    Terra, Gregory & Kevin, I am so sorry about your daddy. I know how you feel, I lost my dad in march. There are no words that can make you feel better. Just know that there are many people out there that love yall and care about you. I will keep yall in my thoughts and prayers??? stay strong and keep his memory alive! Love all of you & sending hugs!!!!
