Katherine Brown

Mrs. Katherine Brown, age 88 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away June 29, 2015 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born May 17, 1927 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Jesse Orr Gandy and had been a longtime area resident. Mrs. Brown was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, puzzle books and bird watching. She is survived by a daughter: Penny Pankey and husband Johnny of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren: Jennifer Brown, Amy Swantz, Cheryl Moore, Dana Daily, Keith Brown and Zack Truxler; step-grandchildren: Daniel Pankey, Dustin Pankey and Jennifer Robertson. Mrs. Brown also leaves eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Floyd Brown; one son: Dennis Brown; two brothers: Elvis Gandy and Charles Gandy and two sisters: Lois Richardson and Opal Gandy.Graveside funeral services will be 12:00pm Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Pine Hill Cemetery with Pastor Marion Stringer officiating. Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas is in charge of arrangements.
