Dennis Allen Mathews

Mr. Dennis Allen Mathews, “Pete” 62 of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. He was born March 8, 1955 in Newport, Arkansas to the late Wallace and Georgia Woodruff Mathews. He served in the United States Army, the Vietnam war, and 101st Airborne para trooper. He was a great man who loved his children, grandchildren, riding his Harley and the outdoors.Survivors include his previous wife: Cindy Mathews of Russellville, Arkansas; children: Samantha (Josh) Nunnally of Lake City, Arkansas ;Shawn (Christin) Mathews of Manila, Arkansas; Vanessa Lambert; Kara (Jonathan) Asner all of Russellville, Arkansas; Kathy Adams of Charlotte, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Sara Nunnally; Isaac Nunnally; Ryker Mathews; Hailey Lambert; Jason Asner; Jasper Asner; Alyssa (Caleb) Fiddler; Courtney (CJ) Johnson; Lily Wadley; five great grandchildren: Blake, Keaghan;Brileigh, Braylynn; Braxton; two sisters: Terry Gatlin of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Debbie Moon of Allen, Texas; one brother: Raymond Mathews of Columbia, Mississippi; and a host of other family and friends.Mr. Mathews was preceded in death by his father; Wallace Mathews; mother: Georgia Mathews; and one brother: Tony Mathews.A memorial service will be Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 2:00pm at The Classic Air Strip in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Faith Funeral Service, Manila, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

    Pete and had been friends for 35 years . we deer hunted and fished together any chance we had I don't have words He was always smiling when he walk in the door.he loved to just show up at my house with a bottle of charter in hand and suprize me. { love ya man.
