Charles Taylor

Rev. Charles Aaron Taylor, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home. He was born on July 2, 1938 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Aaron Albert and Sylvia Phelps Taylor. He was ordained by the Assemblies of God in 1970. He was a member of the Refuge Church of the Assemblies of God in Jonesboro, Arkansas, pastored for 48 years at Bucoda, Missouri, Manila, Arkansas, Black Oak, Arkansas, Lepanto Arkansas, Helena, Arkansas, Porum, Oklahoma, Bearden, Arkansas, and Pangburn, Arkansas where he retired for health reasons in 2014. He was also, a musician, and led many to the Lord that have become ministers as well. He met his wife Shirley in 1955 and immediately said “she’s the one”. From the age of three he was raised in the Paulhein community near Leachville, Arkansas.Survivors include; his wife of 58 years: Shirley Taylor of the home; one son Mark Taylor (Julie) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; step-mom: Adna Taylor of Monette, Arkansas; one brother: Donald Taylor (Joyce) of Lake Wales, Florida; one sister: Joan Macker (John) of West Palm Beach, Florida; one step-sister: Judy Mangrum of Leachville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.Rev. Taylor was preceded in death by; his parents; one daughter: Shelia D. Warren; one brother: Jerry Taylor; one sister Phyliss Ann Taylor; one grandchild: Jonathon Mark Taylor.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Refuge Church of the Assemblies of God with Rev. Matt Smith and Rev. Kenneth Doke officiating. Interment will follow at the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 11:00am until 1:00 pm.
