James Odell Toombs
October 11, 1947 - January 4, 2022

James Odell Toombs, 74, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center on January 4, 2022. He was born on October 11, 1947 to David and Velma Claudine Hinton Toombs. James was a member of the First Baptist Church for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, his cows, watching high school basketball (Rebels), pleasing his customers at the go cart track, but most of all he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. Survivors include; one daughter: Cindy Pollard (Mark) of Caraway, Arkansas; one brother: Gary Toombs (Robin) of Caraway, Arkansas; two sisters: Pearlene Moyer (Kenneth) of Caraway, Arkansas and Sharon Rogers (Jimmy) of Caraway, Arkansas; one grandson: Kyle Jeffers (Amy) of Caraway, Arkansas; three great grandchildren: Remington Atkinson, Madalyn Atkinson, and Mason Moody; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by; one brother: Larry Toombs. Pallbearers: Kevin Moyer, Michael Toombs, Shawn Moyer, David Toombs, Shannon Kelems, Jason Kelems, Chris Kelems, Aaron Moyer, and Scott Toombs. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Caraway, Arkansas with Bro. Glen Haselton and Bro. Rick Stevens officiating. The family will receive visitors on Friday at the church from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery in Caraway, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.

    We didn’t know James personally but always enjoyed stopping and riding go karts. Such a sweet guy and always made for a fun trip for us. James will be missed.

    So sorry for the family's loss. James was someone I looked up to and always admired his energy and drive. I especially remember him when Larry, Gary, and myself use to hang out upon the railroad when James and Joanie lived next door. I pray that he rest in peace and is in the comfort of Jesus. So sorry I can't make the trip to be there for the funeral.

    James was a great kind hearted person. When I first met him I couldn't even ride the go carts by my self. Spent alot of time there In the summer. Yall are in my prayers.
