William "Bill" Sawyer

William "Bill" Sawyer, 79, of Manila, Arkansas passed away at St. Bernards Medical Center on November 1, 2023. He was born on April 11, 1944 in Janssen, Missouri to Milton and Louise Woods Sawyer. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manila, Arkansas. Every afternoon at 3pm he made it a point to meet with his friends to drink coffee. He enjoyed camping, watching NASCAR, watching the Dallas Cowboys, going on the annual family trip every year, and spending time with his family. Survivors include; his loving wife: Dovie Sawyer of the home; three children: Connie Johnson (Donnie) of Flowood, Mississippi, Allen Sawyer of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Shelly Ashby of Manila, Arkansas; one brother: Lee Sawyer of Lake City, Arkansas; three sisters: Liz Chisnall (Terry) of Lake City, Arkansas, Carla Sawyer of Helena, Arkansas, Marie Bell of Hardy, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by; his parents: Milton and Louise Woods Sawyer; two brothers: Milton Sawyer, Jr. and James Sawyer; and three sisters: Melba Sawyer, Denise Sawyer, and Clara Johnson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Manila, Arkansas with Bro. Matt Pryor officiating.
