I met Shanda when I began working at the JHDC in 2006. We were instant buddies as she was with everyone. Knowing Shanda and having the privilege of caring for her and knowing her was a true blessing. Shanda was tiny but her heart was as big as the sun. And like the sun, she made the people she loved feel warm and full of light. I started taking Shanda to the county and state fairs as well as to the Elks' Christmas Party each year and the memories we made were invaluable. I feel so fortunate to have been able to assist Shanda to the Elks Christmas Party just last December. I have many fond memories with Shanda Paige (or Shanda Panda, Shanny Pants) from over the years that I will cherish forever and never forget. Shanda was so loved by her family, and I enjoyed hearing all about them over the years. She talked so sweetly of her Daddy and riding the combine and "cuttin' beans!" with him. She loved talking about going to the lake with her family and riding the jet ski with Kagan and Chantry. She loved getting balloons on her birthday from Mimi and she just loved her Momma. "I wanna see Momma" she said often when she thought of her wonderful mom. Shanda loved all her workers at the JHDC and had names for all of them. She affectionately referred to me as "Lyssa" and sometimes when she was feeling feisty, she had other, less-appropriate names for all of us. We loved Shanda whether sweet or spicy. I will miss her so very much, but I find solace (and hope others do as well) knowing she ran into Heaven straight into her Daddy Terry Gale's arms. I hope the Angel's choir sings their songs lightly or else they'll get a TOOOOOO LOUUUUDDDD!! Love you always, my girl.
