Ruth Pierce

Mrs. Ruth Helen Pierce, 90 of Steele, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 10, 2015 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Missouri. Born October 2. 1924 in Wildersville, Tennessee to the late Buford Dodd and late Lida Doughlas Dodd. Mrs. Pierce was of the Assembly of God faith and a homemaker and was affectionately known as the Avon lady in the Steele area, for the past twenty five plus years. Survivors include: two sister in laws: Shirley Dodd of Steele. Missouri and Dorothy Bamby of Brazil, Indiana; two nephews: Thomas Welton Dodd of Fort Worth, Texas and Michael Dodd of Issaquah, Washington; two nieces: Karen Hull of Brazil, Indiana and Tammy Clowers of Blytheville, Arkansas. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Pierce; two brothers: James Welton Dodd and Sam Denver Dodd; and one nephew: Denver Joe Dodd. Graveside funeral service will be January 17, 2015 at 10:00 am at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri with Rev. Todd Holman officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Alzheimer’s association or the charity of one’s choice.
