Leslie C Smith

Leslie C. Smith, 86, of Jonesboro went home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 7, 2018. He lost the fight here on Earth, but won the battle on the other side. He was born February 14, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri. He lived most of his life in Missouri and 18 ½ years in Michigan, moving to Jonesboro in 2009.He was a builder of several houses, two motels, and an apartment building. He was in the motel business for 18 years.He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. He loved the Lord, his family, and church family at Jonesboro Baptist Church. He was a faithful witness for Lord and good Christian example.Surviving is his wife of 67 years: Hazel Smith of the home; two daughters: Deborah (David) Echols of Paragould and Mary Jo O’Dell of Jonesboro; six grandchildren: Chad (Diane) Mann, Suzanne King, Brandon O’Dell, Shanna (Scott) Rodgers, David Echols Jr., and Scott (Jami) Echols; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother: Richard Deonier (Karen) of Arizona; two sister-in-laws: Sylvia (Dale) Bass of Pocahontas and Martha (Leroy) O’Dell of Jonesboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jonesboro Baptist Church, 5916 E Johnson with Pastor Timothy Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, Arkansas under the direction of Faith Funeral Service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
