Joy F. Shaneyfelt

Mrs. Joy F. Shaneyfelt, a longtime area resident of Kennett, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2015 at her home. Born in Henderson, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Ausment and Hazel Tennessee Ellis Bridges. Mrs. Shaneyfelt was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Hargrave Corner, Arkansas. She served on numerous church committees and was a member of several community clubs. Mrs. Shaneyfelt was a chair side assistant for her husband, and loved to cook, sew, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by one son: Bill Shaneyfelt and wife Pam of Bartlett, Tennessee; three daughters: Debbie Shaneyfelt of Sikeston, Missouri, Jan McDaniel and husband Joe of Kennett, Misssouri, and Jamie Shaneyfelt Hargrave of Kennett, Missouri; three brothers; Manley Bridges of Seagoville, Texas, Leonard Bridges of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Johnny Bridges; one sister: Jane Tucker of Sardis, Tennessee. Mrs. Shaneyfelt also leaves ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Dr. J.L."Jimmy" Shaneyfelt; one brother: Bill Bridges and two sisters: Genevia Hunt and Sue Walker.Funeral services will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett, Missouri with Rev. Freddie Barker officiating. Burial will be at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Missouri at 1:00 pm under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the church.
