MICHAEL THOMPSON, 65 Michael "Mike" Norvel Thompson, 65, of Brookland, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015. Mike was born January 28, 1950 in Paragould, Arkansas to Norvel and Orela (Peppers) Thompson.He lived in Paragould until he was a teenager. His family moved to Wynne, Arkansas where he graduated high school. He earned a degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.Following the tradition of this father and grandfather, Mike signed on to work for the railroad shortly after graduating college.Upon retirement, he became restless and wanted to keep busy, so he learned to trade stocks and also became an independent insurance agent. Mike was a member of the Grace Point Church of Christ in Brookland, Arkansas. He was a sincere Christian who loved the Lord. He loved going to church, studying the Bible, and giving to people in need. He also enjoyed gardening, guns, hunting, metal working, and spending time with his family and friends. Mike is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Nicole Thompson and Amy Michelle Thompson, both of North Little Rock, Arkansas; one grandson, Michael Justin Thompson of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a brother-in-law, William Robinson of Brookland, Arkansas; and many other family and friends.He was precded in death by his parents, Norvel and Orela, and his sister Blanche Robinson. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm, Tuesday, October 13 at Grace Point Church of Christ in Brookland, Arkansas. Reverend David Gibson will be officiating.
