William Stamp

William Floyd Stamp, 83, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the NEA hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born April 28, 1933 in Trumann, Arkansas to the late William and Annie Mayville Stamp. Mr. Stamp proudly served our country in the United States Marines for eight years, where he earned a Purple Heart serving in the Korean War. Mr. Stamp was known throughout Jonesboro for selling and giving away watermelons and pecans. He was known as a gentle and kind soul willing to help friends and strangers at anytime. Survivors include; one brother: Freddie Stamp of Benton Harbor, Michigan; three sisters: Phyllis Stamp of Homeland, California, Evelyn Russell of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Bernice Stamp of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one step-daughter: Diane Gibbs; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by; his parents; and two brothers Eddie Stamp and Jerry Stamp The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and hospice staff at NEA hospital. They are requesting for private services and as a lasting memorial to please consider the Disabled Veterans Association. Faith Funeral Services of Manila, Arkansas is in charge of arrangements.
