Rickey Long, Sr.

Rickey Leroy Long, Sr., 68, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away on October 14, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 27, 1947 in Kennett, Missouri to Roy and Nina Dawson Long. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a “gentle man” with a kind heart. He loved riding motorcycles and was proud of his antique Schwinn bicycle. He also enjoyed fishing and watching old westerns and was a big fan of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. Survivors include; his mother: Nina Long of Branson, Missouri; three children: Rickey Long, Jr. of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Randy Long of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Amber Long-Daniels of Arkansas; six sisters: Linda, Rita, Pam, Betsy, Peggy, and Prissy; one brother: Dennis Long; two grandchildren: Dakota Long and Aubrey Miller; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Roy Long; one brother: Leon Long; and one sister: Sarah Long-Andrews. The family has requested private services.

HE STOOD BESIDE ME DURING THE ILLNESS & LOSS OF HIS BROTHER.WE SHARED SO MUCH OVER THE YEARS...I DEPENDED ON HIM FOR HIS STRENGTH & GUIDANCE & COMPASSION.
