Joe Laster

Mr. Joe (JB) Babe Laster, 81 of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away October 13, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Born November 24, 1934 in Tyler, Missouri, he was the son of the late Wiley and Elsie Battles Laster and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Laster served our country in the United States Army, was a mechanic for 60 years and enjoyed working in the yard. He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Shirley Laster of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four sons: Ricky Laster of Kennett, Missouri, Steve Laster of Kennett, Missouri, Joey Laster of Greenville, Indiana and Michael Laster of South Carolina; three daughters: Martha Hardy of West Plains, Missouri, Linda Hill and David of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Becky Sarils and Bub of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four brothers: Jack Laster of Manila, Arkansas, Jerry Laster and Peggy of Kennett, Missouri, Gene Laster and Sue of Florida and Roland Laster of Kennett, Missouri; two sisters: Billie Short of Dell, Arkansas and Diane Taylor and Stoney of Hayti, Missouri. Mr. Laster also leaves seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Fairview Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Bro. Jerry Jolly officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors from Monday, October 17, 2016 from 11:00am until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Leggett, David Leggett, Ricky Green, Christopher Copeland, Doug Ursery and Dustin Norwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Wages, Bob West and Mike McNabb.
